Aiden & Rachel Formals | Emigration Canyon Formals | Utah Wedding Photographer

Well, if it wasn’t clear already from my blog post about their engagements, I stinking love working with Aiden and Rachel! I’m not even joking when I say they are real life #couplegoals. We went to Emigration Canyon near Salt Lake City for their formal session, including a “first look” moment. Aiden was literally jumping up and down and hollering when he saw Rachel for the first time as his bride. Can you blame him? LOOK at her! Not only is she a stunning bride, but the pure joy these two exude as they share their love with each other is absolutely palpable and tender as can be. As he was hollering, Rachel was smiling from ear to ear and the way that these two adore each other is nothing short of beautiful to watch. They are such a good fit and being the hopeless romantic that I am, I feel so lucky that i’ve gotten to know them and share in just a little part of their joy. Their energy and excitement about getting to spend forever together has made shooting their sessions a breeze.

Once we were done at Emigration Canyon, we went to drive into Salt Lake to get a few shots at the Salt Lake City Utah LDS temple, but it was CRAWLING with people because of everyone who comes to see the Christmas lights at Temple Square. It was so busy it was laughable, but the biggest laughs came a little earlier.

They also had hired a videographer, and she was using a drone to get a few aerial shots while I was shooting with my camera. I was busy directing them and shooting, and the videographer was looking at her screen, watching the feed from the drone. Apparently she REALLY liked the angle I had because she brought the drone down right on top of my head! I heard it above my head at the last second and ducked and threw my hood up so that it wouldn’t tangle up my hair. Luckily it didn’t actually hit me and we all had a big laugh about it, so there were no hard feelings. Just another day in the life :)
