Skyler and Shayla Formals | Utah State Capitol Wedding Formals | Utah Wedding Photographer
We did Skyler and Shayla’s formals at the Utah State Capitol building and the Salt Lake City Utah LDS Temple. Both are gorgeous, elegant buildings in their own ways, and they’re even both made of granite from the same Little Cottonwood Canyon near Salt Lake City. We made sure to take plenty of shots at the temple because their winter wedding is sure to be chilly.
Shayla forgot her bouquet, but it ended up being a good thing because her mom had to bring it to her, and it was really nice to meet her mom, Debbie and her sister, Avery. She is a giant sweetheart and it was so sweet to see her beaming with pride at how beautiful her little girl looked. I love when I get to meet some of the family members before the wedding day. It helps when I can remember their faces and it makes communication on the wedding day go so much smoother when i’ve known them for more than 5 minutes haha.
I really love these two. They both took direction so well, and yet still made the shoot their own. They were naturals and seemed really comfortable in front of the camera which you can see in the photos. I loved how the reds in her bouquet popped next to the red of his tie. Her ring fits her style perfectly. This was just a joy to shoot.
