My favorite Pampering Ideas

Im always telling my clients that the way you feel when you are having your photos taken is what you will connect with when see your photos! This is why its so important to not be stressing at your shoot, or to worry too much about how your hair looks or the way your shirt fits. If you are focusing on those things while we shoot, that’s what you will see in an image. But if you are focusing on the way you feel, you will feel those emotions again when you get your photos back. This is why I work hard to make our shoots a really good time, and to get you to focus on each other. If you are having a good time, laughing and feelings loved by and connected to your fiancé or your family members, that is what the photos will represent to you. I promise! Ive seen it over and over again with my clients and with my own experiences in having my photo taken.

If you show up in the right head space, focusing on each other and feeling love shouldn’t be hard! I send all my clients a detailed list of ways to feel prepared and confident for your photo shoot, and today i’m going to expound on one of my favorite ways to prep for a photo shoot: Pampering yourself before your shoot!

If you will take some time to pamper yourself or your loved one before your photo shoot, you will show up feeling confident in the way you look, and feeling RELAXED. Two very important things!

My favorite ways to pamper yourself before a photo shoot:

Purchase a new outfit that makes you feel like the most fabulous version of yourself

Get a manicure or Pedicure.

Get a massage

Have your hair and make up professionally done

Plan an easy day for yourself

Plan the day before accordingly so you can get a good nights rest

I worked in a Dermatology office for over 9 years, so I also have a lot of ideas on how to pamper yourself by taking good care of your skin and making sure you have a glow for those photos!

Microdermabrasion, microneedling and chemical peels are all highly effective skin treatments that most spas offer. If you plan on getting one of these done, make sure you talk to the spa about the ideal time to have the treatment done before having photos done. Most of these procedures have some downtime associated. With skin treatments, things usually get worse before they get better, so you really want to make sure you get the timing correct so you dont show up to your photo shoot with peeling skin.

Getting a professional facial done is a great idea, but if you don’t have the time or money for a spa visit, there are plenty of at home treatments you can do!

Mary Kay sells a microdermabrasion scrub that is my FAVORITE way to brighten up my skin at home. Its my go to skin treatment when my skin is looking dull. I love this product so much that I usually keep samples on hand to let family and friends try it! Ask me for one if you are interested in trying it!

Mary Kay Biocellulose Mask. This mask is crazy hydrating for your skin. Hydration helps to minimize the appearance of the fine lines and wrinkles that we all have, and gives you that glow. I did this mask a few hours before my last family photo session and I LOVED the way my skin felt and looked!

I actually love these two Mary Kay products so much that im giving one or both to the next 5 brides who book with me! Contact me HERE if you want to get more info about booking!
