Mike & Kait | The Loft Wedding | Southern Idaho Wedding Photographer
I am SO excited to share the images from Mike & Kait’s special day!
I love my job and I genuinely enjoy working with all of my clients, but this was an exceptionally delightful case. Mike has been a family friend for the past 16 years, so my little family was thrilled to road trip up to southern Idaho to attend the reception. My little sister has been friends with Mike since third grade, so she came with us and my boys loved the chance to spend some quality time with Aunt Missy squished between their carseats. Mike’s family lives all over the country from Idaho to Iowa and are rarely all in one place at the same time, so Mike’s mom couldn’t pass up a chance to have me take family portraits the day before the wedding. It was fun to get to know the family a little bit before the wedding, and it gave me a chance to teach little posing tips and tricks that I noticed them use the next day.
Shooting Mike & Kait’s summer wedding was a dream. I think their images turned out beautifully and really captured the joy they shared in celebrating their love with their friends and family. It was a gorgeous sunny day, and Kait was as beautiful of a bride as they come. I loved watching how special it was for her mom and sisters to help get her ready. The venue, The Loft, had two side aisles that the wedding party used to enter from the front with a lovely garden between them, and a magnificent mature tree right in the middle of the guest seating that really gave this ceremony a unique flair. When they were dating, most of their hang outs included a trip to get a flavored soda, so the soda bar at their reception was a darling touch that was really let their personalities shine through. Mike even included her favorite drink at the proposal, which I got to capture. The night was capped off with dancing, laughing, smiling, more dancing, and a bubble filled farewell as Mike & Kait drove off to begin their new life together.
With Missy as my special assistant, I shared lots of behind the scenes footage on my Instagram story throughout the wedding day. That resulted in lots of people showing interest in seeing this blog post, so without further ado, Mike & Kait’s wedding day!
