Metcalf Extended Family Session | Layton Commons Park | Layton, Utah Family Photographer
Alisa and I have known each other since the days I cut my own bangs and dyed my hair purple, AKA high school. And not that trendy like pastel purple thats in right now. I mean like purple, purple ;) In fact, my older brother was on an LDS mission while I was in high school and one of my younger brothers drew a family portrait to send to him in Ecuador and straight up used a purple crayon for my hair. The stories Alisa could tell on me… I’d better stay on her good side!
I think i’d say so far i’m still on the right track because Alisa contacted me to do an extended family shoot as a gift for her parents and it was a blast! I shot her wedding several years ago, and I can still remember it being one of the first weddings that I really fell in love with my job. It was in the mountains, and it was absolutely beautiful, and there was so much love and support from their friends and family. Her husband, Erwan, is from France, so it was extra special for his loved ones to fly in for their special day. You can see the blog posts from that day here. and here. It was so good, I couldn’t fit it all into one post :)
Scheduling for extended family shoots can get a bit tricky, but we made it work. Alisa’s brother Will had just gotten home from his LDS mission a few months before these photos so it was neat for all the Metcalf’s to get to be all together again. Alisa’s son is the first grandchild in the family and everyone adores him. It’s pretty easy to see why. This family is full of good-looking people, plus they were fun and easy to work with, so my job was pretty much just pure joy this day.
