What to wear to your photo shoot

I am frequently asked by my clients what to wear for their family photos or their engagement sessions. Obviously everyone has their own styles, so I don’t want to tell people exactly what to wear, but Im happy to offer a few pieces of advice. My clients get an entire guide on the topic, and ill share a few of my favorite tips here today!

What to wear

-Wear something that you feel comfortable in and that you feel like the most fabulous version of yourself. Don’t wear something that isn’t you and dont wear something that is too casual. These photos will last forever so you want to put your best foot forward.

-I think light colors work really well with my editing style

-Match each other in style. If one of you is in casual clothes, you should both be in casual. If one of you is in a dressier outfit, you should both be in dressier clothes.

-Don’t be afraid to accessorize with jackets or hats that you can switch out during the session to add more variety.

What NOT to wear

-Clothing with words, busy designs or logos. These are all distracting and your eye will be drawn to these things. You want you and your love to be the focus of the images.

-Really bright colors can come off as neon in photos. Again, its distracting. Not to mention, really bright colors can put a color cast on your skin which can be really hard to edit out. You don’t want neon green colors reflected onto your skin, I promise.
