Logan & Brooke Couples Session | Hyrum Reservoir | Northern Utah Wedding Photography

I don’t do a lot of styled shoots anymore but after a really busy and incredible summer full of shooting for all my wonderful clients, I just needed to shoot something for me. I met Brooke when she participated in the self love campaign I shot earlier this year for Moonbeam apparel, an amazing little clothing store here in Logan, UT. She has a great energy and is super sweet and gorgeous, so I asked her and her husband to model for me.

I’m also gonna go ahead and give a shout out to Moonbeam for having CUTE clothes for every body shape and size. As women, we don’t have time or energy to be boxed up into tiny categories that don’t serve us well. I’ve met women all over the clothing size spectrum who are frustrated with limited options. Just because someone has a petite build doesn’t mean they want to dress the same way they did when they were 12 years old. And someone looking for clothes in a larger size doesn’t always want bland neutrals with yards and yards of fabric. We have kids to raise, businesses to run, communities to build, and worlds to change. In short, we have better things to do than having to look at 20 different stores to find something we look good in and helps us feel confident. I want to say thank you to Moonbeam for understanding that and giving us the options we want and need all in one place. You can check out their online store here.

Back to Logan & Brooke! I had never met Logan before, so I didn’t realize this until I had already asked them to model, but he is the brother of Eric Shields, who happens to be the husband of one of my favorite local makeup artists to work with, Shannon Shields. Eric and Logan look so much alike and I kept accidentally calling him Eric. Luckily for me, he was super nice about it.

We shot these at the Hyrum Reservoir and I LOVED the shoot. It was just what I needed. I can’t get over the look of the moon in some of these photos. I adore her skirt, it’s from a company called Mr Pretty Skirt, who you can find here. Brooke was a total trooper about getting in the water, and it made a world of difference.
