Pierce & Jeremy | Spring Hollow Wedding | Utah Wedding Photographer

Pierce’s family and my family go way back. I mean way, way back. As in, I remember Pierce when he was in diapers. His dad, Jeff, and my dad, Keith, have been best friends for as long as I can remember. As I was growing up if my dad was going on a hunting trip, it was with Jeff. If my dad went fishing in Alaska, it was with Jeff. When my dad was on hospice a few months back and couldn’t do much other than watch the NBA Playoffs, Jeff came over to watch every game with him. It was an honor to document Pierce and Jeremy’s happy day, and a true joy to be around the Allen family.

Pierce and Jeremy probably take the cake for the most personalized, unique wedding I’ve had the opportunity to shoot, and it was gorgeous. They reserved two huge group camp sites up Logan Canyon at Spring Hollow and invited close friends and family to camp out and enjoy the beautiful canyon the day before the ceremony. I was impressed by the transformation they and their families performed on one of the sites to turn it into a beautiful venue for the ceremony. Jeremy showcased his talents throughout the decor as he designed and built many pieces including the arch they were married under, and the drilled driftwood candle holders for centerpieces. Everywhere you looked, they included personal touches that were meaningful to them both individually and as a couple. Their matching powder blue jackets with their white pants and brown shoes had them both looking dapper and charming as could be. Their dog as the ring bearer ALMOST stole the show because holy cow that pup is cute. Their hand written vows to each other had everyone teary-eyed, and Jeremy singing “You Matter To Me” to Pierce didn’t help the mascara situation for this hopeless romantic behind the camera.

A few of the lyrics to that song -

Come out of hiding
I’m right here beside you
And i’ll stay there
As long as you’ll let me

Because you matter to me
Simple and plain and not much to ask from somebody
You matter to me
I promise you do, you’ll see
You matter to me”

I love the sentiment expressed in those words. When it comes to a marriage, falling in love is a beautiful, wonderful, exciting part of it. But that’s not the whole thing. Marriage also takes courage and vulnerability and commitment. And I think Pierce and Jeremy portrayed that beautifully. You don’t have to look too hard at these photos to see it.
