I started a "365" project in January and I attribute so much of my improvement as a wedding and family photographer this year to that single project!
The intent was to take a picture of my kids every day for a year, hence 365. I quickly realized that a picture a day wasn't realistic for us. I still loosely call it a 365 project and just make sure I pull my Nikon D750 out as often as I can and take pictures of my boys individually and together. The point is to document their growth this year. I post my favorites on Instagram and write my captures as love letters to my boys.
I love this project because now I have 6 months worth of photos of my boys, I can see so many changes in them already, but I've also really improved my photography skills as well! Getting my camera out more often has not only helped me become more familiar with my camera and its settings, but I'm also shooting inside my poorly lit house which has helped me learn new lighting techniques.
Here are a few of my favs so far!
If you have ever thought about doing this kind of project with your kids, I highly recommend it! I treasure these photos! And if you know nothing about photography but are interested in doing this, I teach a digital photography course!
